Christmas Walk is Friday, December 5

Join us on Friday, December 5, from 4-6 PM to kick off the holiday season at the Christmas Walk in Downtown Iron Mountain. Beginning at 4:00, check out all of the great activities happening at the Dickinson County Library-Main Branch. Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus to share your Christmas wishes! Enjoy crafts, activities, and a performance by the Kingsford High School Jazz Band featuring Christmas classics. Don’t miss the live nativity scene outside, presented by Bishop Baraga Catholic School students at the Downtown Stage. Beginning at 5:30, join us for a festive foot parade and Christmas caroling to the First National Bank & Trust Plaza. The evening concludes with a community tree lighting ceremony to kick off the holiday season.

Christmas Walk also kicks off the voting for the Christmas Window Decorating Contest. If you are a downtown business and wish to participate, SIGN UP on the DDA Website on the Christmas Walk page (see the big red button) by December 3rd! This is a great way to spread holiday cheer throughout the community.

We also wanted to mention the Dickinson County Library Winter Clothing Drive, running through January 11. Donations can be dropped off at the Dickinson County Library and will be given to the Foster Closet, with additional items delivered to the Caring House.

Girls Night Out Was A Big Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made Girls Night Out in Downtown Iron Mountain such a blast! Our community showed up and had an unforgettable time. We estimate that around 2,000 people came out this year. A huge thank-you to all of the downtown businesses who participated. Your energy, creativity, and hospitality truly made the night special.

DDA Business Directory Is Being Updated

The DDA is in the process of updating our online Business Directory for the Iron Mountain Downtown District on the website at downtownironmountain.com. We try to keep it up-to-date as we become aware of some changes, but it’s been two years since the entire list was verified. In any event, we hope to finish the job in early December. If you have any information to pass along to us, we’ll make a change or correction within a few days. Please email any of those to Tim at programs@downtownironmountain.com.

The Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority (DDA) plans and conducts three major festivals and a series of smaller events every year in Downtown Iron Mountain. In total, these festivals and events bring some sort of activity to the Downtown area on 35 dates of every year. These are in addition to numerous other events conducted by various local organizations downtown every year.
