The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) plans and conducts three major festivals and a series of smaller events every year in Downtown Iron Mountain. In total, these festivals and events bring some sort of activity to the Downtown area on 35 dates of every year. These are in addition to numerous other events conducted by various local organizations downtown every year.
The DDA’s Events Committee is a group of local business people, DDA staff and Board members, and other dedicated volunteers. The Committee meets 6 to 12 times per year to discuss ongoing improvements, brainstorm new ideas, and work to offer sponsorship opportunities related to festivals and events in Downtown Iron Mountain.
The funds raised through Downtown festivals and events are reinvested back into the community in the form of building improvement grants. These grants provide an incentive to Downtown property owners to improve the appearance of their buildings, making Downtown Iron Mountain a more attractive place to celebrate, shop, and hang out with friends.
