Every summer in Downtown Iron Mountain, thousands of people converge on the heart of Downtown for festivals, events, and the Farmers & Artisans Market. The Systems Control Downtown Stage is a centerpiece of that hub of activity, which includes the Out to Lunch summer concert series (10 dates), Brew Fest, Italian Fest, and Oktoberfest. Music and other entertainment on the Stage is experienced by many locals and also by many people who travel to visit Iron Mountain. The Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority (DDA) manages the Downtown Stage, and it is made available to community organizations to use for their events.
The Downtown Stage was installed in 2010, just in time for the first Out to Lunch date of the 2010 season. The stage was funded through private donations and the DDA at a cost of about $25,000. Since 2010, maintenance costs have been funded by the DDA in partnership with sponsors.
The Downtown Stage is sponsored every year by a business or organization that values participation in downtown events and festivals. The large banner displayed at the right side of the stage is there to let everyone know that Systems Control is currently the Downtown Stage Sponsor. Therefore, it is formally referred to as the Systems Control Downtown Stage in all advertising and promotions for Downtown Iron Mountain events.
