Iron Mountain Italian Fest Is August 10!

annual italian fest iron mountain michiganIron Mountain’s annual Italian Fest, sponsored by LiUNA Local 1329, is a celebration of all things Italian! From 12 noon to 11 PM, immerse yourself in the rich heritage and flavors of Italy. Enjoy live entertainment and fun activities. The kids can find plenty of fun and games in the Children’s Area sponsored by First National Bank & Trust. Everyone can indulge in Italian cuisine and participate in activities like the Italian dinner toss and grape stomp. For the age 21 and older folks, there’s Wine Tasting with Michael LoDuca (LoDuca Wines), who offers 8 varieties of his family’s wines. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. Come join us in Iron Mountain MI on Saturday, August 10, 2024 for a day of fun, food, and festivities from noon to 11pm.

Crispigna’s Italian Market is a northside Iron Mountain institution offering delicious Italian specialties from lasagna to cannoli and more, of course. Curious Pig comes to us from Crystal Falls MI with mouthwatering barbecue and sandwiches. Downtown favorite Dulce Nulla Gourmet Desserts has some awesome sweet treats, including gluten free options.

As usual for Italian Fest, live entertainment will be playing throughout the day – sponsored by Iron Mountain Area Tourism – at the Systems Control Downtown Stage. The Opening Ceremony features Mike Izzo and friends singing “God Bless America” in Italian. Jan & Gino kick off the musical performances from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by Norton, Chartier, & Company from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and closing with Andy Gibbons and the Bad Axe Rodeo from 7:45 PM to 10:45 PM.

While at Italian Fest, be sure to see the exhibit showing the rich history of Iron Mountain’s Sister City Sassoferrato, Italy, organized by Dickinson Homes and Slumberland Furniture.

And – for the folks who want to join us from out of town – Iron Mountain MI is right on the Wisconsin / Michigan border and across the Menominee River from Wisconsin. It’s just a short 1 or 2 hour road trip from Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Rhinelander, Marinette, Stevens Point, and Wausau. If you’re down in Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, Madison, or even Chicago IL, it’s a 3 to 5 hour drive, which is still very reasonable for a weekend. If you need a place to stay, just do a quick Google search and you’ll see an abundance of lodging in the Iron Mountain area.
